I was talking to a man today that I had begun to find attractive, and then I found out that he is a religious Christian. (In other words, truly believes in Jesus as their "savior" and everyone else.) I lost all respect for him after that. Me I feel a little guilty, but Christianity in general (and its branch in particular) is so illogical. Plus it has a long history of hatred and violence. . . . Do you feel that is well to date or friendship with people joining organizations, religions and philosophies with stories so bad / that are so divorced from reality? The truth is that it assumes the judge based his description of their religious beliefs. We had a long discussion about it.
My best friend of a Christian, but respects the beliefs others, and I respect her for it. Only if it is arrogant in their beliefs ("I'm right and if you believe what they believe to hell") is good to lose all respect for him. We should not respect their religion, but first get to know the person.
