I recently met a nigerian man on a Christian website. , he lives in Houston ,TX and says he has his papers, we

have a lot in common, and he seems to be on the up and up, we have only been talking a few days, he calls regularly and seems to be genuine. However, I have heard so many things about nigerian men trying to scam women. He has not asked me for anything, and he is planning to come visit me in a few weeks. He works for a major airline so he travels for free. My question is before I get to involved how can I know if he is real and not up to something? Any women on her ever dated a nigerian man? Oh and if it helps he has been in the states for 10 yrs.. any help or advice will help.
in response to stephanie, he is divorced and has papers. He seems to be consistent in the things he tells me, because i constantly bring them up again. I’m no fool and usually know when someone is lying, because i have had scammers approach me before. This man has asked me for nothing.

Go for it! Meet him in a public place, like the airport or a cafe. DON’T send him money even if he sounds sincere, he should understand. Set up a system when you meet him that you should call a friend right before you go to bed after meeting him, and again in the morning for the duration of his visit, just in case…..
