conversations about human interactions, spiritual understanding, life learned lessons, family behaviours, dating, all those kinds of things, but he likes to just go out have drinks, or watch tv, so although he really “likes” me, and i like him, im thinking i am going to have to break up with him, so how do i go about letting a guy know my reasons for ending things with him. im 25 he’s 39 and when i asked him how serious he was taking me on a scale from 1-10, he said 8.5.what does that mean? does that mean he is really taking me seriously? So i feel kind of held back, i am a christian and he is not, so i feel i should at least tell Him about God’s love, but if i break up with him he probably wont react to positively to us staying friends, can i get ur advice please!! thank u guys!!no smart remarks please, not necessary
This does seem weird, at the age of 39 I would have thought he would want to settle down and start a family.
Well unfortuanly it isn’t always a persons age that can make them a more interesting person. It seems like he is still stuck in his 20′s by wanting to go out and drink but then he wants to sit and veg out like a 40 something year old. There should be a comfortable middle.
I would sit down with him, adult to adult and tell him how you are feeling. Tell him you dont feel like he is as committed to the relationship as you would like him to be. If he asks you more in detail be sure to explain it as best you can and politely as possible since you want to stay in contant and maybe be friends.
I’m not sure about introducing God’s love in this conversation but it if it is another reason for wanting to move on then you should let him know as well. Many christians feel they should have a christian partner because the morals are the same and they have a stronger bond together. You could suggest he go to a worship service with you, but if he refuses dont force him about the issue, it’s best to leave it alone and let him come around when he decides to.
