is it normal if i have a porn addiction but have never had sex?
I have an online porn addiction (watching porn almost every night, mostly amateur sites) and masturbating to it. I get excited just thinking about it and look forward to it in life? I have no friends anymore and am mostly a loner b/c of anxiety disorder & dislike social interactions. Also, i do not really want friendships anyways. I have depression and see a therapist and on medication, therapist doesn’t know about porn habit thought b/c i am too ashamed to say it aloud. IIN what I love about porn is getting watch so many others have sex and the way they do it, etc. but i am afraid of males to do it myself and have never been on a single date & am still a virgin. I am a 30 year old female btw. It seems likely I will never get to have a relationship like other girls I’ve seen, sigh. what is wrong with me & is there something really wrong with this porn issue or not really? ty.
You’re too ashamed about your porn addiction and that leads to a vicious cycle of neglecting searching for love and affection in the real world.
Porn can only satisfy your immediate needs, but will not allow you to develop a sexual comfort level fully. This is in part because (in your case) you are enjoying porn by yourself in a secluded setting, its self-indulgence and its substituting for an otherwise normal healthy sex life.
Porn isn’t like sex either, its more like a drug that stimulates a part of your brain. This is why porn is so addicting.
