I went to a tier 2 school, and I was told by a recruiter:

i havent ever heard anything about that, what it sounds like is that he is trying to make his numbers because for recruiters the month ends for them in the middle of the month the 15th or so..so if you signed the papers today then effectively you could go to meps and be in by the 15th.. i would say if you arent comfortable with it then tell him that you arent ready and youll wait the 5 months and see what he says to that.. or you know what else you could do is call another army recruiter from another recruiting station and ask him/her about it because im not up to date
