Online dating – resending a message when I did not receive a response?
So I joined this online dating site, plenty of fish, and I read this one woman’s profile and I was really interested in her. I sent her a message and it has been a week and I haven’t received a response. The site itself has the ability to tell me whether the person has read the message or not as well as if the person deleted it or not. I did check whether if she had read it or not and it said that she read my message however she did not delete it. What puzzles me is that if she had no interest in me, why bother not deleting the message. Does anybody think it is a good idea to send her another message, or do you think it would make me sound to pushy, eager and desperate? Also can anyone add any insight to why she kept my message?
I think there are a few possibilities. I am the type that never deletes. I read them and let them pile up, bad I know. She may be that type. Or she could have met someone interesting and she is keeping your email in case it doesn’t pan out. I think there is nothing wrong with resending the message ONCE. Resend the same one though. Don’t say anything like “why didn’t I hear from you,” or “let me try this again”. Simply resend the msg. And see what happens. If you don’t hear from her after that then she is not interested and leave it alone. Good Luck!
