What is the proper way to discuss here on Yahoo Answers, in your opinion? Was I out of line?
He said a question about a very sensitive subject (at least for me) to the best of my ability. The question I answered was riddled with misinformation, and horrific grammatical errors. Although I admit that my response was harsh and probably unpleasant, was honest and objective and that was my opinion. Looks like I touched a nerve in my seeking to inculcate the art of intelligent opinion about this person. The author of this question personally attacked me in his additional comments, looked at my questions and assumptions made about my knowledge of English and tried to mock the credibility of a point I made after the date of online publication he discovered. I understand that this is an open forum and my feelings are hurt by any means. I know nobody on in Answers myself. I have curiosity about how other people feel in such situations. Are honesty and the fact the most important things in an argument or argumentative tone of his words?
It would be easy to say that if you leave a link to the question. Sometimes it is not what you say but how you say it. There are plenty of very sensitive people out here in the world cyberspace. For me, a fact that is most important in a forum question / answer, however, when I ask a question that usually do not realize when someone responds "Is ______ idiot, etc.". EDIT: Well I found the question. What was a religious fanatic, you can not reason with unreason. She had her opinion, and that's it. You have a different opinion, so suck in your mind. I would like a little pleasure to have touched a nerve with her. At least, I read your answer instead of giving it a thumbs down after reading the first sentence.
